Hi Barbie! For St. Mark’s Spirit Week, faculty and students showed off their school spirit all week with themed outfits! In the week leading up to fall Groton Day, members of the St. Mark’s community got pumped up for Saturday’s games by dressing up in clothing that matches the theme of the day. The rivalry with Groton dates back to 1886 and is still going strong. The winner of Groton Day takes home the coveted Raccoon Coat each year, and St. Mark’s fought hard this year to try and win it back.
Spirit Week started with the tradition of “getting the red out” by wearing Groton’s school color - for the last time! - on Monday. On Tuesday, students rolled out of bed and came to classes in their favorite pajamas. St. Markers repped their favorite sports teams and players on Wednesday for Jersey Day, and on Thursday, everyone channeled teamwork by finding someone to match with for Twin Day. On Friday, everyone came to school as a different Barbie or Ken! Whether people dressed as Doctor Barbie, Firefighter Barbie, Dancer Barbie, or Weird Barbie, everyone represented their favorite character to prepare for Groton Night. To conclude Spirit Week, students were decked out in the school colors, blue and white, in hopes of winning back the Raccoon Coat from Groton on Saturday.
