Since the 1866-1867 school year, St. Mark’s has continued its longstanding tradition of electing student-leader Monitors. This year, we celebrate our 157th group with Calvin Beard and Judy Rodolakis as co-Head Monitors, alongside fellow Monitors Charlotte Crawford, Jonathan Hernandez, Crystal Hui, Munene Muindi, Yumna Syed, and Eli Zahavi. These eight VI formers are the glue to our community, voicing the student body and serving as the primary connection between faculty and students. They work behind the scenes and on stage by planning and hosting all-school events, (eg. Groton night, dances, annual final evening chapel) running weekly school meetings, and sending ever so many emails.
Last spring, all Monitor candidates went through the lengthy process of writing essays, filming minute-long campaign videos, and attending live interview sessions. The St. Mark’s community recognized and spotlighted the hard work and dedication of these eight individuals, electing them by popular vote this past April. Congratulations to Calvin, Judy, Charlotte, Jonathan, Crystal, Munene, Yumna, and Eli—we look forward to all your endeavors this year!
